Be it cities or villages, infrastructure needs to be planned for a longer term. Without developing villages, the cities can not flourish. Quality social infrastructure such as educational and health institutions needs to be in place for enhancing living both in rural as well as urban areas. Coherent transport and communication facilities in both rural and urban areas will cause balance in development. Increased use of Information Technology will better connect the rural-urban masses. Development of infrastructure with a thought to geographical and climatic conditions will help in building long lasting and cost effective infrastructure.
A Land of Business Opportunities
Maharashtra needs to regain its position as the most favored investment destination and attract right kind of investment opportunities that will accelerate development. Investor friendly business atmosphere needs to be created. The issues bothering investors such as delayed decision making, non transparency in policy frameworks, outdated labour laws, corruption in time consuming licensing procedures, crude taxation policies, uncertainties in supply of power and raw material, lack of quality transportation need to be addressed instantly. The government needs to ensure level playing field for all the stake holders.
Secured environment plays an important role in development. It gives boost to investment and infrastructure. Similarly benefits of the investment and infrastructure can be reaped only when the environments are secured. Better intelligence, quick decision making, sufficient manpower and high morale of security forces is essential for keeping the cities as well as villages safe from terrorism and other anti-social elements. Using advanced technology in terms of weapons, ammunition, communication or surveillance (CCTVs) will enhance the efficiency of our security forces. Our coast line should be protected and penetration of left wing extremists on eastern state border needs to be kept under check.
